WEDNESDAY night’s NAB Challenge match between the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda will have a delayed start after a massive downpour that flooded Simonds Stadium.

Geelong received 50mm of rain in an hour just before 6pm AEDT which flooded the ground and the stadium.

However, the playing surface cleared up significantly and after officials pushed remaining water to the boundary line, the AFL confirmed the match would start at 7.40pm AEDT, 30 minutes behind schedule.

Reporters have been restricted from accessing the changerooms to see the final teams due to the flooding.
