Josh Eyre's time at St Kilda has come to a close, with the club this week informing the 20-year-old he would not be offered a list position for 2023.

The former Essendon ruckman was invited to RSEA Park in early December alongside Liam Stocker in a bid to join the Saints via the pre-season Supplemental Selection Period.

“We’d like to thank Josh for all he has put in during his time at the club,” Acting General Manager of Football Operations David Misson told saints.com.au.

"Throughout his time with us, we've done our best to be transparent with Josh as to which way our decision would fall as we know this process can be a stressful one.

"Ultimately we have chosen to keep a list spot available at this time.

"While Josh recently injured his hamstring at training, this had no bearing on our final decision.

"We've offered Josh assistance from our medical team as he recovers, and look forward to exploring VFL options with Josh moving forward."
