The Saints returned to the community this week as part of AFL Victoria's Community Camp program, heading up to Benalla and Wangaratta over two days to spread the joy of footy.

It was the first opportunity to reconnect with grassroots football following years of covid-impacted pre-season campaigns.

Benalla

A stop at Benalla was first on the agenda, as the team received a special Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremony at the Benalla Botanical Gardens to commence their stay in Yorta Yorta land.

The boys then checked in at the local FCJ College to meet the kids and teach them about leadership and persistence.

Wangaratta

Next up was a super clinic with local kids at Wangaratta's Norm Minns Oval, where the team ran drills for Auskickers and stayed around for photos and signatures.

Former Blue Liam Stocker met a young Blues fan and gave her a special 'Go Saints' message when she asked for a signature.

The boys spent the remainder of the trip visiting junior footy clubs and local primary schools before completing a training session at the home of the Wangaratta Magpies.

The club would like to thank the Benalla and Wangaratta communities for their warm welcome and hospitality.
