Twenty-four Saints from last year’s AFLW campaign have signed on for the upcoming 2023 season.

Coupled with the recent influx of players acquired through this month’s AFLW Sign & Trade Period, St Kilda has only one more list spot to fill via next week’s draft.

“We’re incredibly pleased to have all these women sign with us for the upcoming season,” Head of AFLW Tessie McManus said.

“In line with our list strategy, we now have a great deal of experience – both in years and in the number of games played – around our young core, who are ready to take the next step in their careers.

Thirteen of our 24 re-signed players are under 24 years of age, and with an average of 20 games between them, is a profile we have great confidence in as we prepare to make our presence felt in 2023.

“With the likes of Tyanna Smith and Renee Saulitis to return from ACL surgeries, and our draftees J’Noemi Anderson and Caitlin Matthews free of school commitments, we’re excited to see what the future holds.

“We made it our focus to bring in experienced players during this year’s Sign & Trade Period and have done so with those who will be able to both star in their own right and bring our existing side along with them."

St Kilda added Steph Chiocci, Jaimee Lambert, Jesse Wardlaw, Natalie Plane and Serene Watson to its list via this month’s AFLW Sign & Trade Period.
