The AFL is pleased to announce that Port Adelaide's Erin Phillips and St Kilda's Hannah Priest will join the AFLW Competition Committee.

The AFLW Competition Committee will meet today - Thursday 30 October - and will be chaired by AFL Commissioner Simone Wilkie.

The charter for the group is to ensure the overall progression of AFLW.

Erin Phillips joins the AFLW Competition Committee having played 56 games with Port Adelaide and the Adelaide Crows. She is the current captain of Port Adelaide and has kicked 50 goals across her career.

Hannah Priest joins the AFLW Competition Committee having played 35 games with St Kilda. Priest is the captain of the club and has not missed a game since being drafted in 2019. Off field, Priest is an Education Lead at St Kilda Football Club in Community Programs.

AFL General Manager of Women's Football Nicole Livingstone thanked outgoing committee members Trent Cooper, Chelsea Randall and Alicia Eva and warmly welcomed Priest and Phillips to the competition committee.

"I would firstly like to thank outgoing Alicia Eva, Chelsea Randall and Trent Cooper for their service on the AFLW Competition Committee – their contribution was critical to the ongoing evolution of women's football," Livingstone said.

It's great to have Hannah and Erin join the AFLW Competition Committee and we look forward to gaining their invaluable perspective as we head towards the 2023 NAB AFLW Season and beyond.

- AFL General Manager of Women's Football Nicole Livingstone

"Erin joins the committee as the most decorated player in AFLW history – she has three premierships, two league best and fairest, two grand final best on ground medals, and three All-Australian selections.

"She's a leader on and off the field – Erin is the captain of her club and is an assistant coach with the Port Adelaide men's side through the Women's Coach Acceleration Program. We are delighted that Erin will help shape the future of the AFLW through the competition committee.

"Hannah brings a fresh perspective to the competition committee. It's her third season as captain of the Saints and she hasn't missed a game since she was drafted in 2019.

"Her on-field leadership is exceptional, as is her off-field leadership. She is widely respected across the competition as an inaugural St Kilda player."
