We recognise the Club’s rich history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players, staff and supporters, and the significant impact each has had on our organisation and the wider league.

Thirty-one Indigenous players have represented the red, white and black, sharing not only their talent, but also their culture with the St Kilda and broader community alike.

Our Club has been on a ‘yawa’, the Boon Wurrung word for journey, for many years, to better understand the role it can play in making our Club and game places of cultural equality and inclusion.

In spirit of the yawa, and following a thorough consultation process with staff and players, the Board of St Kilda Football Club supports the First Nations Voice to Parliament being enshrined in the Australian Constitution.

In forming this decision, the Club engaged in open discussions and education sessions regarding the issues relating to the proposed constitutional change.

We encourage all Australians to further educate themselves ahead of the referendum to be held later this year.
