St Kilda young guns Mitchito Owens and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera have been selected in the final 2023 AFLPA 22Under22 team.

The 22Under22 is an annual fan-voted team of the best players across the AFL under the age of 22, with the second-year Saints earning maiden selections in the team.

Selected at pick No. 21 in the 2021 NAB AFL Draft, the silky-skilled Wanganeen-Milera has been a model of consistency across half-back this season, featuring in every game and playing an important role in the Saints' finals berth.

The 20-year-old ranks inside the top 20 in the competition for marks (averaging 6.3), kicks (17.6), metres gained (447) and bounces (0.8), impressing with his speed, poise and sound decision-making.

Owens has played a vital role as a forward, particularly in the absences of Max King and Tim Membrey for sustained periods, while also starring in stints through midfield.

The No. 33 pick has booted 25 goals from his 21 games this season, ranking first among the AFL's eligible Rising Stars for total contested possessions and score involvements.

The youngsters will be looking to continue their stellar seasons in their maiden finals campaigns in September.
