Sleeve length tattoos have been in vogue for years now, particularly in the global sporting domain. For Tim Membrey, ink has always appealed to him.

When you think of the heavily cartooned spearhead, a palm tree adorned to his left arm immediately springs to mind.

His left arm is filled with a wide colour palette, while his right arm is covered in black and shades of grey.

“I always wanted a coloured sleeve so I just went right out there and thought the palm tree looked pretty cool with heaps of different colours. So I got one arm in colour and one in black and grey,” Membrey told saints.com.au on Monday.

Some sittings at the tattoo parlour have taken up to eight hours, but so far there’s been no tears for the in-form key forward who added another five goal haul to his breakout season on Sunday night.

“I’ve done a couple of eight hour sittings which are pretty nasty by the end of it, so you’re happy by the end of it to get out of the chair,” he said.

“No tears, but a few grimaces that’s for sure.”

The 22-year-old alluded to more work to come over the summer months. Just what’s on the cards next, you’ll have to wait and see come the pre-season.

“Maybe a few plans over the off-season, we’ll just have to see how we go,” he said.
