The Saints return to the hallowed turf of the MCG for the fifth annual Spud’s Game against Carlton this Friday night.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the match.

To ensure you are inside the ground in time for the match start, arrive early and leave plenty of time for the entry process. 

MCC gates open: 5:00pm 
Public gates open: 5:30pm 
Player warm-up: 6:55pm – 7:10pm 
Team entry: 7:26pm 
Spud’s Game 2-minute delay: 7:40pm

Be in your seat by 7:40PM 
Every year at Spud’s Game, we begin with something bigger than footy. 
Before the first bounce, the match will be delayed by two minutes for a powerful moment of reflection and conversation about mental health.

Member Access: 

Tickets are available for Reserved Bay and Reserved Seat members to pre-book, or General Admission access members who wish to upgrade their seat.

Interruptions impacting Round 9 v Carlton. 

🚊 Train Disruption:  

• Buses replace trains on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines between Blackburn and Belgrave or Lilydale stations from 8:30pm Friday 9 May until the last train on Sunday 11 May. 

Tram Disruption: 

• Buses replace trams on Tram Route 82 between Stop 64 Footscray Station/Leeds St to Stop 32 Moonee Ponds Junction/Pascoe Vale Rd until 4:30am Monday 12 May. 

🚗 Road Disruption:  

• Flinders Street (eastbound) is closed between Elizabeth and Swanston streets.  In addition, a westbound lane will also be closed between Elizabeth and Swanston streets.  Extra time may be needed if travelling through the city. 

• There will be no right turn from the Citylink outbound exit ramp onto Footscray Rd or from Footscray Road onto the outbound entry ramp for CityLink,  from 9pm Friday 9 May until 6pm Sunday 11 May. 

• Three lanes will be closed on CityLink outbound between Footscray Road and Dynon Road from 9pm Friday 9 May until 5am Saturday 10 May. 

• Three lanes will also be closed on CityLink inbound between Flemington Road and Footscray Road from 9pm Friday 9 May until 5am Saturday 10 May. 

Gate 2 is your destination for all your exclusive Saints merchandise from Saints Locker,    

Friday evening is the perfect time to show your support and pick up a Spud's Game Scarf. Head down to the Saints Marquee on the concourse outside Gate 2 and chat to our friendly staff from 5:30pm. We will also have a very limited amount of replica Spuds Guernseys available for purchase - these are sure to go quickly so arrive early to avoid missing out. Spud's Game scarves will also be available to purchase from participating MCG merchandise outlets both on the concourse and within the stadium.
