St Kilda Football Club has officially signed QAFL key forward and former Brisbane Lions academy prospect Lilu Hung for the upcoming 2025 AFLW season.

Most recently plying her trade for the Queensland powerhouse Aspley Hornets, the 19-year-old will make the move to Moorabbin this week as she comes in as an injury replacement for ruck Emmelie Fiedler, who was moved to the inactive list at the end of last week following her ACL injury.

Despite spending her entire draft year on the sidelines due to stress fractures (2023), Hung’s promising junior career earnt her an invite to the most recent AFLW Draft combine, where her natural leadership and ability to play up and down the ground shone through.

“We’re super excited to welcome Lilu to the team as we look to strengthen our key position stocks ahead of the 2025 season,” General Manager AFLW Jessie Mulholland said.

“Lilu’s aerial ability and versatility around the ground stood out to us during her draft year, but our priorities at the time ultimately led us in a different direction.

“We’ve continued to follow her progress closely and can’t wait to see her at the Saints very soon.”

The 176cm marking utility was a standout for Aspley in their preliminary final loss to Bond University at the end of the 2024 season, collecting 13 disposals, seven hitouts, two inside 50s and one contested mark.
