Darcy Wilson

37 disposals, 14 clearances, nine score involvements, seven inside 50s, five tackles, one goal

Darcy came back to the VFL after going through his concussion protocols and was really strong as an inside midfielder. His ability to win clearances and push forward to impact the scoreboard was really important and it was a standout game at this level from him.

Angus McLennan

25 disposals, 10 marks, 10 intercepts, five tackles

We thought Gus was one of our best on the day. His 25 possessions is his most in a game at VFL level which we were really impressed with as well as taking seven intercept marks which was great. His ball use has developed really well and we’ve been happy with his improvement and defend-first mentality.

Paddy Dow

28 disposals, 10 clearances, nine inside 50s, seven tackles

Had another strong game and has put together a really great brand of footy. His 16 contested possessions was really critical for us in the midfield and was really important in us supporting the ball and staying in close to the contest to assist around stoppage and congestion.

Arie Schoenmaker

22 disposals, seven marks, five inside 50s, five intercepts, one goal

Played three quarters as we waited for the AFL game to begin before he played here which was a great experience for him. Was able to come in and make an impact on the wing and showed improvement in his contest work and was able to find the ball.

Tobie Travaglia

20 disposals, six tackles, five marks

Tobie continued part of his education as a defender and understanding our system. He was able to win the ball well and we were happy with his defensive principles on the day that really helped the team while being able to get involved in attack which was pleasing to see.

Mattaes Phillipou

23 disposals, six inside 50s, one goal

It was good to see Mattaes back and able to play out a game after a frustrating season on the injury front. He has areas of his game he wants to continue to develop but he showed his strength in the midfield and around stoppage, as well as his ability to move the ball forward. He took a really strong contested mark that was great for his confidence during the game also.

Jack Carroll

21 disposals, six intercepts, four marks, four inside 50s

Jack played on the wing again this week which we’re starting to expose him to a bit more at VFL level. He was able to set the ground well and be used on attack with strong ball use while also push back and assist our defenders when they were challenged.

Liam Henry

16 disposals, three tackles, one goal

We thought Liam looked to be really sharp from a movement perspective and has taken considerable strides after a hard 12 months through injury and rehab. He was a constant in the forward 50 and was able to set up a few goals and get on the scoreboard himself which we thought was a great step forward for him.

Lance Collard

10 disposals, four tackles, four score involvements, two goals

Lance entered the game with a real energy and brought his forward pressure strengths and chasing out the opposition with his tackles and pressure acts. Was able to reward himself with a couple of goals on the scoreboard and use his quick hands in congestion to set up more which was pleasing to see.

Alex Dodson

14 disposals, 14 hitouts, five clearances, one goal

Had a good duel in the ruck against Casey and was able to contribute and take some good lessons out of the game. He continued to provide us with a good option forward of the ball when there as well and continues to develop his work around the ground.

Harry Boyd

12 disposals, 25 hitouts, four clearances, four score involvements

Harry played a mix of forward and ruck and we really liked his ability to impact contests even when he was outnumbered, bringing the ball to ground and competing at ground level. He was again really strong in the ruck and worked well with the midfielders to execute his role and provide leadership to the young group.

Liam O'Connell

18 disposals, five clearances, five intercepts

Liam played majority midfield and a little bit of half-back in this contest and again showed progress in this new role he’s been undertaking. He was able to put a lot of pressure on the opposition and get from contest to contest well to support our numbers around the ball.

James Barrat

Nine disposals, six intercepts

Had one of his better games at VFL level. His diligence to be able to defend was strong where he made some good decisions to spoil and use his body well. He was also able to effectively use the ball which is something he’s been working on.

Zaine Cordy

Eight disposals, five intercepts

Zaine once again provided really strong leadership for both the AFL and VFL-listed players in the side. We thought he was again a strong contributor in holding the backline together and setting up behind the ball when under duress.

Eamonn Armstrong

Seven disposals, two tackles

Took another step forward in some of the things we’ve been working on with him. He got involved in some possession chains and showed his ability to defend as well as his athletic capabilities in only his second competitive game of football.
