Euro-Yroke’s stocks are set to be bolstered this week, with three key Saints eyeing a Round 3 return.
2024 midfield mainstays, Olivia Vesely and Charlotte Simpson, alongside small forward Hannah Stuart, will be required to pass a fitness test during this week’s main training to put their hand up for selection.
This marks a significant milestone for fifth-year Vesely, who has spent a large portion of pre-season in the rehab group recovering from a hip injury.
Winger Darcy Guttridge will miss Saturday’s clash after being sidelined with a foot injury. The 25-year-old was a late withdrawal to face the Dees after suffering some soreness in the warm-up at Casey Fields.
“As Darcy’s shown throughout her career, we know she’ll tackle rehab with the utmost professionalism to get back on the track as soon as possible.”
Boasting one of the healthiest lists in the club’s history, with 27 out of a possible 30 players available, Euro-Yroke has a lot to weight up at the selection table this week.
“It’s a great problem to have,” Mulholland said.
“To possibly have 27 players available to select our strongest team heading into Round 3 is obviously a major positive for us.
“It’s a credit to the tireless work and commitment from our medical and strength and conditioning teams, alongside the investment our players put into getting their bodies right.”
Euro-Yroke returns to RSEA Park this week as they face Waalitj Marawar in the opening week of Indigenous Round.
