The Saints’ stocks could be bolstered this week, with J’Noemi Anderson and Rene Caris both a chance to return in Round 9. The pair will need to pass fitness tests at the Saints’ main training session to put their hands up for selection.

However, senior players Bianca Jakobsson and Nicola Barr are both set to spend time on the sidelines after sustaining injuries in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win.

Barr’s timeline is yet to be confirmed, with the midfielder undergoing further consultation on a knee injury this week.

Meanwhile, Jakobsson has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season, after being subbed off late in the final term again GWS. Scans later revealing the 32-year-old suffered a tibial fracture and syndesmosis injury, requiring surgery.

“It’s incredibly disappointing news for BJ, ” General Manager AFLW Jessie Mulholland said.

“One of the most diligent and professional players on our list, we know she’ll approach this next phase with the same focus and commitment she’s shown throughout her career.

“An integral leader on and off the field, BJ will continue to play that role from the sidelines with the full support of the team behind her.”

“Setbacks are never easy but our approach doesn’t change. We have trust in the depth and resilience of our team as we head into the second half of the season.”

Meanwhile, inaugural Saint Olivia Vesely continues to progress well in her calf rehabilitation.
