St Kilda’s five-player VFL leadership group has been finalised for the 2026 season, as the club prepares for its historic return to the competition.

Led by captain Billy McGee Galimberti, the side will run out for its first official game tomorrow against GWS, marking an exciting first step in a new era for the red, white and black.

A local product, Galimberti is a Sandringham Dragons graduate who went on to play with Sandringham in the VFL in 2024, alongside representing St Kevin’s in the VAFA. He most recently spent time with the Giants’ VFL side in Sydney.

Former Sandringham Zebras pair Ned Maginness and Billy Richardson have been named vice-captains, with Jett Hartman and Bailey McKenzie rounding out the inaugural leadership group.

“We are a young, developing group with emerging leaders right across the list,” senior coach Brendon Goddard said.

“The three captains have been our greatest role models in setting the trademark and standards we’ve driven since day one of pre-season.

“It’s an exciting time for the entire club and everyone involved. It’s been 25 years since St Kilda last played for premiership points in the VFL and we’re looking forward to showcasing our brand, our club culture and our connection as a group this weekend and throughout the 2026 season.”

The Saints’ VFL side will play at Moorabbin for the first time in Round 3 on Sunday 5 April against Richmond. Entry will be free, with Linton St Café, Sanctum and Saints Locker open for fans.
