St Kilda Football Club can confirm that Liam Ryan was admitted to hospital late on Sunday night for precautionary observation.

The forward received a significant knock during the second term of Sunday’s match and notified medical staff after experiencing discomfort post-game.

“The wellbeing of our players is our number one priority, with something like this we wanted to take the precautionary approach in having Liam assessed as quickly as possible,” GM of Football Lenny Hayes said.

“In good news, his results are positive with no major concerns.

“He’s since been discharged and our focus is now on supporting Liam to get some good rest as he recovers.”

The club will provide a further update in its injury report this afternoon.
