St Kilda has locked in its AFLW coaching structure for 2026, with Head Coach Nick Dal Santo set to lead the club into his sixth season at the helm.
Fresh off the club’s maiden AFLW finals campaign, the Saints head into 2026 with renewed momentum, bolstered by the appointment of Matthew Brewer as Head of Development and Assistant Coach.
Brewer joins St Kilda from Melbourne, where he spent four years across multiple coaching roles including backline coach, VFLW Head Coach and midfield coach during the Demons’ premiership-winning season. He also brings valuable pathway coaching experience from his time at the Oakleigh Chargers.
“We’re thrilled to have Matt Brewer join the club in this new role,” General Manager AFLW Jessie Mulholland said.
“His football knowledge, passion for development, and genuine care for people were key reasons he stood out throughout the recruitment process.
“Already a well-loved and respected member of the squad, we can’t wait to see what he can bring to the team in 2026.”
Former Collingwood and Brisbane player Jack Frost has taken on a new role this season as the Forwards Coach, alongside his duties as VFLW Head Coach of the club’s affiliate, Sandringham Zebras.
Frost joined St Kilda’s AFLW program as a development coach ahead of the 2025 season.
Well-regarded coaching recruit Matt Skubis will continue overseeing the Saints’ backline after making an immediate impact across his first season at Moorabbin.
Former AFLW ruck Alison Downie is set to continue in her longstanding role as Specialist Coach, entering her fourth year at the club in 2026.
