St Kilda has made three changes ahead of Sunday’s clash against Essendon, with key defender Sam Fisher, key forward Paddy McCartin and wingman Daniel McKenzie all set to face the Bombers at Etihad Stadium.
After missing last Sunday’s loss against West Coast at Domain Stadium due to general soreness, experienced backman Fisher comes straight back in to bolster St Kilda’s back six.
McCartin earns another opportunity in Alan Richardson’s side after spending the last fortnight with Sandringham in the VFL.
The 2014 No. 1 pick will be part of a tall forward setup alongside last year’s leading goal kicker Josh Bruce, Tim Membrey and Nick Riewoldt when he skipper pushes forward.
Following a standout performance in the VFL last weekend, athletic midfielder McKenzie gets his first chance at AFL level this season after he played seven games in his debut season last year.
Small forward Jack Lonie and young midfield duo Jack Sinclair and Blake Acres have all been omitted, with the latter pair named as emergencies along with ruckman Jason Holmes.
The American product was elevated to St Kilda’s primary list on Thursday after a strong start to the season in the VFL.
