Saints Captain and passionate US sports fan Nick Riewoldt has joined the team at Sports Where I Am, an online community that allows fans to find games, buy tickets and merchandise, as an ambassador.

Sports Where I Am currently provides coverage to 52 US/Canadian Cities, 203 stadiums, 15,000+ events and houses over 3900 fan tips and has today announced expansion into seven Australian cities.

Available at SportsWhereIAm.com and via mobile app on iOS & Android, Sports Where I Am allows fans to find games, buy tickets and merchandise and get all the best game day tips generated by fans (think best bars, where to park, best seats, food options) and more – all in the one spot.

Nick Riewoldt joins the Australian-based company after personally using the app for tickets and tips whilst spending time in the US with his family. Riewoldt has also been assisting the team with product and business development.

“Sports Where I Am marries a lot of my passions and interests - sports, the US, watching US sports, experiencing great events, and business. The Australian addition and future for Sports Where I Am is really exciting. I look forward to continuing my work with the team and using the app” said Riewoldt.

As part of his role as ambassador, Riewoldt will host a video series called Roo’s FanTales.

Episode 1: Roo’s FanTales features former Saints teammate and current Essendon Captain Brendon Goddard, and Saints teammate Leigh Montagna.

Launched in 2015, Sports Where I Am is the brain child of Aussie sport addicts Matt Scully and Adrian Gale, who said the idea came about after a trip to New York in 2012 where they found it difficult to get the local lowdown on games.

“It’s not just the physical game that makes the experience – it’s the local knowledge; where to get a pre-game drink, where to get the best value for money seats and what food to order - and avoid, at the game. We couldn’t find authentic local insight anywhere and wasted so much time researching, with little success,” explained co-founder Matt Scully.

This frustration soon turned into motivation to bridge the gap in the market. Their first priority was to better cater for the 2.6 million overseas trips made by Australians each year to see sporting events and secondly, to service the 3.9 million domestic trips taken by Australians each year to attend sporting events.
