In one of the Saints’ most memorable victories in recent memory, emerging midfielder Seb Ross produced a dazzling performance that was arguably one of St Kilda’s best individual performances of 2016.

After bursting out of the blocks and leading at every change, Alan Richardson’s side then fought back from behind to win a nail-biting encounter at Etihad Stadium in Round 14.

While Jack Steven was also outstanding, Ross was the most influential player on the ground.

Not only did he win plenty of his own ball, finishing with 33 possessions (12 contested), five clearances and five inside 50s, he also nullified the best player in the competition.

2016 Brownlow medallist, Patrick Dangerfield, still got his hands on the ball, but Ross ensured his use wasn’t at its game terrorising best, shadowing him around stoppages to prevent the superstar from slicing the game open.

In a breakout season littered with brilliant efforts, Ross’ performance against Geelong stamped his class and his ability to rise when the stakes were higher.
