Seventeen new faces will come into the senior line-up for St Kilda’s Emergency Services Practice Match against Hawthorn at Morwell Recreation Reserve tomorrow afternoon.

The young brigade will be buoyed by several senior inclusions as they rack up valuable match-day minutes ahead of Season 2020.

Skipper Jarryn Geary, Dylan Roberton, Zak Jones, Jimmy Webster and Nathan Brown will provide wisdom and experience to the fresh side after missing last Thursday’s clash against the Hawks.

Dylan Roberton and Jarryn Geary will make their first appearances in red, white and black after lengthy periods on the sidelines.

Several Saints will sit out Friday afternoon, with Rowan Marshall, Jack Billings and Tim Membrey all rested in anticipation of next week’s match against the Magpies in Morwell.

After originally being slated to play in the practice match, Dan Hannebery will instead complete a training session over the weekend with other non-travelling players and suit up the following week against Collingwood in the second Marsh Community Series game.

Fans will be excited to see Jack Bytel take the field, with the highly-touted draft pick set to make his first appearance in red, white and black.

The 19-year-old will be joined by newcomers Ryan Byrnes and Leo Connolly, mid-season recruit Jack Mayo, untried defender Oscar Clavarino and ruckman Sam Alabakis

Senior coach Brett Ratten said it was exciting for several fresh-faced Saints to test themselves against quality opposition and put some match-day miles to their name.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity for us to get extra match-day minutes into a lot of the boys,” Ratten told saints.com.au.

The pre-season gives us the opportunity to play our whole list that are all healthy and let them taste and experience senior footy – and what a great chance to do it in Morwell and help raise a bit of money for those affected by the bushfires.

Bradley Hill and Jade Gresham have been hand-picked by Damien Hardwick and John Longmire to feature in the star-studded State of Origin Bushfire Game the same evening.
