Key Players
• Lenny Hayes has always thrived against the Cats, the champ averages 23 disposals and 5.9 tackles per game over his 23 encounters against Geelong.

• Steve Johnson remains Geelong’s most devastating player with the mercurial midfielder averaging 25.8 disposals in his past four matches against the Saints, while also remaining a potent option up forward.

• All eyes will be on each team’s respective key-position forward in Tom Hawkins and Nick Riewoldt. The two sit second and equal-third in the race for the Coleman Medal respectively, with Hawkins kicking three-plus goals in eight of his past nine games and Riewoldt kicking multiple goals in all but two games this year.

Take Note
• St Kilda’s last victory against the Cats at Simonds Stadium was in 1999 with Lenny Hayes being the sole remaining player for St Kilda. Geelong has proceeded to win the follow six encounters at the venue since that game.

• In order to be competitive this weekend, the Saints will need to improve on generating inside 50s and converting those chances. Geelong in 2014 is averaging 9.7 more inside 50s per game then St Kilda and is converting 48.2 per cent of those opportunities into scores, while the Saints are only converting 43.3 per cent of their entries into scores.

• The Saints have struggled to score freely against the Cats in recent history, failing to register 100 points or more in the last 11 games against Geelong dating back to 2006.
