St Kilda will start its 2018 campaign against the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium on the first Saturday of the season.

Alan Richardson’s side will play Carlton and Melbourne in the JLT Community Series, which has been reduced from three to two games this season, before facing the Lions on Saturday, March 24.

The Saints have won the last three encounters between the two sides, with the last two games played at Etihad Stadium, where St Kilda won eight games in 2017.

Former Hawthorn champion Luke Hodge is set to play his first game for Brisbane in Round 1 after the 33-year-old decided to extend his decorated career in Queensland despite retiring at the end of the season.
