Boasting breakaway speed and the ability to win the ball on the inside and outside, Ryan Byrnes has all the makings to succeed at the elite level.
The Sandringham Dragons skipper starred in the NAB League, averaging 25 disposals per game to take out the club’s best-and-fairest and earn a spot in the Vic Metro representative team.
That superb form has carried over into his time with the red, white and black, with Byrnes piecing together two best-on-ground performances in scratch matches against Richmond and Carlton to thrust his name into the selection conversation.
Byrnes ultimately got the call-up for Round 7 against the Crows, with the No. 31 making his debut in front of 25,000 supporters at Adelaide Oval.
Byrnes was selected by St Kilda with pick No. 52 in the 2019 National Draft.
