Mason Wood's stellar start to the season has been capped off with a perfect 10 coaches' votes following Saturday's standout display over Essendon.

Wood was a clear best-on-ground as St Kilda celebrated its 150th Anniversary Game in style, finishing with a career-best 27 disposals, 594 metres gained and 11 marks to will the Saints over the line.

The 29-year-old played an influential hand through his workrate on the outside and ability to impact the scoreboard (seven score involvements), only being halted after copping a knock to his shoulder in the dying stages of the game.

After the first three rounds of the season, Wood is the only player to chart 20+ disposals and a goal in each of his appearances.

Wood was joined by Callum Wilkie (eight votes), Jack Higgins (four) and Dan Butler (one) in the Saints' vote-getters, while Nick Martin (three), Jye Caldwell (two) and Darcy Parish (two) polled for Essendon.
