Anthony Caminiti’s one-match suspension has been overturned, with the Tribunal this evening electing to void the Match Review Officer’s original findings.

Caminiti’s strike on Hawthorn’s James Sicily during the third quarter of Sunday’s Round 20 match was originally deemed as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact, High Contact, however the club was able to reduce the ‘Intentional Conduct’ assessment to ‘Careless’.

Following this reclassification, the Tribunal elected to revoke any match suspensions as a reflection of the incident.

Caminiti, represented by Mr Adrian Anderson, contended that the contact with Sicily was never intended to be high impact, rather to push him away from the mark to allow Caminiti space to take his kick.

“We’re very pleased with tonight’s result and thank the Tribunal members for their time and expertise,” Acting General Manager of Football David Misson said.

“Anthony has been an important player for us this year, so we’re pleased to have him available for selection this week.”

Caminiti said he was pleased with the outcome.

“I’m grateful for this result and thank the Tribunal for taking the time to consider my case," Caminiti said.

“I look forward to getting back to training this week and preparing for a big game against Carlton on Sunday.”
