Train and road disruptions

Buses will replace trains on multiple lines and closed roads over the weekend. Supporters are advised to check for disruptions before traveling. Check the PTV app or website before travelling and allow extra time for your journey.

There are no scheduled disruptions for the Frankston or Sandringham lines.

Belgrave Line

On Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between Blackburn and Belgrave stations. 

Lilydale Line

On Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between Blackburn and Lilydale stations.

Geelong and Warrnambool lines

Coaches replace trains between Geelong and Warrnambool stations.

Gippsland Line

Coaches replace trains between Southern Cross, Traralgon and Bairnsdale stations. Replacement coaches will not stop at Flinders Street, Richmond, Caulfield, Clayton,Dandenong and Berwick stations.

Passengers on these lines should allow extra time when travelling to and from the MCG. When catching a return bus post-match, passengers should return to where got off the bus pre-match.

Precinct road closures

  • Brunton Avenue will be closed between 1.00pm and 7.00pm
  • Jolimont Street and Jolimont Terrace will be closed between 1.00pm and 7.00pm
  • Wellington Parade will be closed between 5.50pm and 6.20pm
  • Vale Street will be closed between1.00pm and 7.00pm

Parking and access

No general public parking is available for this match. Parking is available for accessibility and accredited passholders only.

Additionally, the G-Train Mobility Shuttle Service operates during public events held at the MCG.

The service is free and accessible to patrons with mobility challenges. The G-Train also features vehicles with wheelchair-friendly access.

Pre-booking is not required; simply wait at a designated pick up point for the next available buggy. The service has pick up points from the following locations:

  • Richmond Station
  • Jolimont Station
  • Accessible Parking Area
