St Kilda key forward Mitch Owens has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season.

The 21-year old was subbed out during the third quarter of the Saints’ Round 21 win over North Melbourne with a hamstring injury. Scans have since confirmed a mid-level strain.

“You never want to see any of your players on the sidelines, however at this time of year it would be unnecessary to take any undue risks,” EGM Football David Misson said.

“Mitch will meet with further specialists in the coming days to assess whether or not surgery will be required.

“He’s a great young guy who we know will take all the necessary steps to get him back on the park as soon as possible.”

Positively, emerging key position player Isaac Keeler is eyeing a return this week pending a fitness test during the squad’s main training session on Thursday.

The versatile 198cm South Australian has shown his promise at both ends of the ground, kicking nine goals from his first 10 matches this year after debuting in Round 2.
