St Kilda’s first selection at pick No. 32, 177cm Besanko made an instant impact in the Saints’ pre-season hit outs. Her contested marking and athleticism proving the former Dandenong Stingrays captain has what it takes to stand up tall in Dal Santo’s best 21.

Scouted as one of the most versatile prospects of the 2024 draft, Forbes played across all three lines for both the Calder Cannons and Vic Metro in her draft year. Taken with pick No. 55, the 18-year-old will be looking to bring her penetrating left foot and silky skills to the big stage as she lines up for her first AFLW game in five days’ time.

“We’re so proud to see Zoe and Kyla earn their AFLW debuts in Round 1 this week,” GM of AFLW Jessie Mulholland said.

“In such a short amount of time, they’ve proven they have the maturity and skill to perform against the best and play at the elite level.”

“It’s an exciting time for Saints fans as we inject new talent into our squad, and we can’t wait to welcome the Besanko and Forbes families to RSEA Park on Sunday.”

The Saints kick off their 2025 campaign this Sunday against the Crows, 2.10pm at RSEA Park. Tickets available now at Ticketmaster.
