The Saints will head into Round 2 unscathed on the injury front after collecting their first win of 2025 on Sunday afternoon.

Top 2024 trade recruit, Nicola Barr is eyeing off a club debut, with the former Giant listed as a test to return this week.

Barr missed the majority of the 2024 season with a hamstring injury and upon her return to full load, missed Round 1 with foot soreness after enduring some pain in the lead-up to the season opener. 

The 61-game star will be required to get through a fitness test during the Saints’ main training session this week to put her hand up for selection.

“Nic has been an absolute professional on the injury front since her arrival at Moorabbin,” GM AFLW Jessie Mulholland said.

“Rehab is never a fun place to be, especially when arriving at a new club. 

“We’ve been so proud of how she’s managed this additional setback on the eve of the season and can’t wait to see her back out on the track once granted the tick of approval.”

Positively, small forward Hannah Stuart is said to be progressing well in her respective hamstring recovery and will eye off a return to the side in the coming weeks alongside key Saints Charlotte Simpson and Olivia Vesely.
