1: Patrikios the workhorse
Georgia Patrikios produced one of her best performances in season 2026, with a stellar outing against the Dockers. In what proved to be a back-and-forth contest, she led all comers for St Kilda, collecting a mammoth 27 disposals, six inside 50s, five intercepts, and three clearances.
The inaugural Saint was involved in an incredible passage of play with teammate Ash Richards, setting up Richards’ goal with some fancy footwork that gave the Saints the lead early in the final stanza. The 2021 All-Australian continues to be a supreme on-baller this season and remains one of the best young talents in the AFLW competition.
2: Serene kicks two!?
Serene Watson contributed to the team in a variety of ways on the weekend! Her usual defensive profile was showcased, registering 11 disposals, five tackles, and three intercepts in a solid display down back. However, at various junctures during the game, interim coach Matthew Brewer moved some magnets, allowing Watson to move further up the ground and provided offensive pressure that was rewarded.
In her 76th AFLW game, Watson kicked not one... but two majors! Down by 15-points at the main change, she acted as the catalyst to spark the Saints in the third term. Watson booted her first goal three minutes into the second half, which was then followed by a second major short there-after to bring the deficit to single figures.
3: Terrific from Trudgeon
Superstar Paige Trudgeon put in a big shift in the backline against the Dockers and compiled together a solid performance. The 26-year-old finished with 18 disposals, 11 intercepts, five tackles, and three inside 50s. Trudgeon was the only Saint who played 100 per cent game-time, and had plenty of critical moments to halt Fremantle’s scoring, in particular the third quarter. She was heavily involved in some chains off half-back that ultimately led to the Saints’ scoring firepower, kicking three big goals in the third term to swing the momentum in St Kilda’s favour.
4: Ash asserting herself
Ash Richards continues to be a player who exhibits an ability to be ruthless at the source whilst also cashing in on the scoreboard. Richards provided another strong contribution with 13 disposals, six clearances, and one major. She constantly put the Dockers’ midfielders on the back foot and was one of the links in the chain to set up scoring opportunities for the Saints.
5: Tough Tyanna
Tyanna Smith keeps mounting together strong performances at Moorabbin. She finished the game with 13 disposals, five tackles, four inside 50s, and three score involvements. The two-time B&F runner-up also enjoys to occasionally push her way up the ground, scoring a goal against the Dockers – and thus far kicking four goals in ten games in season 2026.
