The next chapter in St Kilda’s 2020 campaign will see the red, white and black play four games in 16 days as the AFL fixture prepares for a blockbuster 33 matches over 20 days.

Brett Ratten's Queensland-based Saints will remain in the Sunshine State for Rounds 9-12, with the limited travel a major positive in getting the red, white and black on a roll.

The Saints will call the Gabba home for two out of four matches, with two games – including its Thursday night prime-time clash against Gold Coast in Round 10 – broadcast on free-to-air television.

St Kilda will kick off its journey in a Saturday twilight fixture against Sydney in Round 9, before taking on Gold Coast in the club's second Thursday night outing under the lights of Metricon Stadium the following week.

The Saints' only four-day turnaround will then have the them back at the Gabba for a Monday night bout with Geelong, with the fortnight closing out against Essendon on Sunday afternoon.

St Kilda will gain a seven-day turnaround before the new block, with this week's Round 8 clash between Port Adelaide scheduled for Saturday night at 7:40pm.

St Kilda CEO Matt Finnis said the Saints were excited for the unprecedented run of matches.

“It has been a footy season like no other and we have embraced everything that has come our way,” he said.

“For Saints fans this an opportunity to cheer on Ratts and our players four times in 16 days, and to enjoy footy on the TV every night of the week.

It has never happened before in the history our game and to be part of that will be something we won’t ever forget.

- Matt Finnis

“I certainly know my fellow Victorians will appreciate the distraction from the current stay-at-home restrictions."

Finnis said the Saints had the depth to cope with shorter breaks between matches.

“The challenge of playing off shorter breaks is something the entire competition has to confront and the teams that cope the best with this change will be the ones playing finals at the end of the year,” he said.

“We are in good shape in terms of the health of our list and have plenty of talent and experience to call on given the depth of our squad this year.”

Ticketing information will be published on saints.com.au in the week of each game, while eligible members will receive details via email.
