St Kilda Football Club has advised Lucy Burke, Leah Cutting and Jess Matin they will not be offered contracts for the upcoming AFLW season.

All three joined the red, white and black outside of the draft, with Cutting signing as a free agent in 2021 and Matin and Burke joining as injury replacement players ahead of Seasons Five and Six respectively.

Cutting, who played seven games for the club, was moved to the inactive list ahead of Season Seven after work commitments with the South Australian Police Force prevented her from returning to Victoria.

Matin registered 18 games for a 15-goal return, while Burke – recruited from the VFLW Southern Saints – chalked up 12 senior appearances.

“On behalf of the club, we’d like to thank Leah, Jess and Lucy for all they have contributed and invested into St Kilda,” Head of AFLW Tessie McManus said.

“All have left their mark in their own way, be it through their performances on game-day or around the club.

“We wish all three the best in their future football and off-field endeavours.”

So far, St Kilda has brought in star duo and Steph Chiocci and Jaimee Lambert, as well as ex-Carlton defender Natalie Plane, during this season’s AFLW Sign & Trade Period.
