St Kilda’s rising Irishman Eamonn Armstrong has delivered his hometown Gaelic football club a major title in Meath.

Armstrong played a key role for Duleek-Bellewstown as they triumphed in the Meath Intermediate Football Championship and earned promotion to senior ranks in 2027.

St Kilda granted its Irish talent a return home in the off-season to play for their local Gaelic football clubs - boom recruit Kobe McDonald represented Crossmolina Deel Rovers in Mayo, while Liam O’Connell returned to Ballincollig after playing 13 games at AFL level in 2026.

Armstrong played 16 VFL games for the Saints this year after four late in 2025, showing plenty of growth in the back half of the season after a shift to the wing, including a 21-disposal, one-goal game against Footscray.

The 20-year-old is one of four Irish players at St Kilda, alongside O’Connell and McDonald in the AFL team, plus AFLW talent Saoirse Lally, who has played five games in her debut campaign.

The AFL trio will return to Melbourne for pre-season training in November ahead of the 2027 season.
