St Kilda’s AFLW leadership team has been locked in for the 2025 season, headlined by returning skipper Hannah Priest.

The upcoming campaign marks Priest’s sixth consecutive season as captain and her fifth as sole leader supported by a next-gen Saints’ leadership team.

Star defender Serene Watson takes the reigns as Vice-Captain for the first time, a position previously held by Bianca Jakobsson across the last three years.

Watson’s development both on and off the field has mirrored her rising influence within the group, her appointment marking an exciting next chapter for the Saints’ lasting legacy.

Georgia Patrikios and Tyanna Smith carry forward their leadership roles from last season, while Molly McDonald returns to the fold after previously holding post in 2023. Nicola Barr rounds out the group, whose experience and leadership shaped across nine years with the Giants has made an immediate impact on the squad in her first season in the red, white and black.

“It’s an incredible privilege to lead this club and playing group again alongside a united team of leaders,” Priest said.

“Each year as our squad’s connection grows on and off the field, this opportunity remains evens more special and one that we don’t take for granted.”

“A special thank you to BJ (Bianca Jakobsson) who has been a rock to lead alongside for the past three years. Her leadership, care and experience have left a lasting imprint on this group. A dual All-Australian, club Best and Fairest winner and more importantly a genuine leader in every sense, who will always remain a strong and respected voice within the team,”

“There’s been a really strong level of anticipation throughout pre-season, and we can’t wait to run out at home in Round 1 to show the competition how much this group has evolved over the year.”

St Kilda will kick off their 2025 AFLW campaign against Adelaide at RSEA Park on Sunday 17 August, 2.10pm.

Tickets for Round 1-11 will go on sale to members, Tuesday 12 July at 10.00am and to the general public at 2.00pm.
