Scans have confirmed a moderate-grade hamstring strain for Anthony Caminiti, with the defender expected to spend four to six weeks on the sidelines.

Caminiti sustained the injury in the opening minutes of Saturday’s win over GWS and took no further part in the game.

Youngster Charlie Banfield is also set for a period on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder in the VFL.

The first-year player will undergo further consultations this week to determine the most appropriate management plan, with a return to play timeline to be subsequently confirmed.

Pleasingly, Liam O’Connell is closing in on his first appearances of the season, pending final clearance at training on Thursday.

“Liam has approached his recovery with the utmost professionalism. We’re looking forward to seeing him back out there this weekend, provided he gets through a fitness test with medical staff later this week,” GM Football Lenny Hayes said.
