WHAT'S ON?

AFLW Indigenous Round

This round we celebrate Australia’s First Nations people, their culture, influence and contributions to the game we love!

St Kilda will be known as Euro-Yroke throughout the AFLW’s Indigenous Round, celebrated across Rounds 3 and 4. Pronounced ‘yoo-roe yoo-roe-ck, Euro-Yroke is the Boon Wurrung name for St Kilda.

First Nations Guernsey

The team will proudly wear our 2026 First Nations guernsey, which honours the yawa (journey) of one of the club’s most senior and respected First Nations leaders and Noongar man, Bradley Hill. Designed by 11-year-old Noongar-Yamatji artist Jed Bennell, the guernsey tells the story of Hill’s football journey across Hawthorn, Walyalup (Fremantle) and Euro-Yroke through the eyes of the next generation.

Gift Exchange

Euro-Yroke will present North Melbourne with a cultural gift in the form of a necklace made from Emu feathers, handmade by Aunty Katrina Amon, St Kilda’s Indigenous Player Development Manager. Barraeemal is the Boonwurrung word for emu. For the Boonwurrung people, Barraeemal has long been an important source of food, tools and materials and holds a deep connection to Country, culture and spirituality. The necklace represents our connection to, and respect for, the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which our club lives, works, trains and plays.

Welcome to Country

Join us at 1:00pm, prior to the first bounce for an official Welcome to Country Ceremony to be performed by proud Boon Wurrung Senior Elder Professor N’arwee’t Carolyn Briggs AM.

First Nations What’s in the box?

Are you brave enough to put your hand in the mystery box? We’ve got a series of mystery boxes containing different items of cultural significance to our First Nations peoples for you to guess using only touch and feel!

Blak Market

Make sure to visit our Blak Market featuring stalls from local First Nations artists Brian Walker and N’Dene Riley!

Brian Walker’s Karillip Creations creates beautiful earrings and wooden goods featuring First Nations designs. Brian has a strong connection to the club, he is a Saints fan of 27 years and regularly makes the club’s cultural gifts!

N’Dene Riley creates stunning First Nations art and jewellery. N’Dene also has a strong connection to the Saints, having previously helped create the community artwork at St Kilda's First Nation Family Day, as well as conducting a workshop for our AFLW program.
