St Kilda AFLW captain Serene Watson will play her 75th AFLW game on Saturday against the Pies at RSEA Park.
Let's look at some of her best performances thus far in her career, driven by the numbers.
Watson began her career at the Gold Coast Suns, playing 33 games from 2020 to 2022. She had a strong 2021 season, averaging 13 disposals, 3.8 tackles, and providing quality contributions in her clearance work.
Round seven of the 2021 season against Richmond was highlighted as her most complete game for the Suns. Watson recorded 14 disposals (seven contested), six tackles, and three marks.
Serene joined the Saints in 2023 and immediately got into her work. After finding her feet in her first campaign at RSEA Park, the 24-year-old had a breakout season the following year with St Kilda. She averaged 16.6 disposals, 3.8 marks, 2.7 tackles, and a very impressive career-high disposal efficiency of 81.4 per cent.
In 2025, Watson began to further flourish for the red, white, and black. The 2025 All-Australian averaged 22.1 disposals, 3.5 marks, and 2.5 tackles in what was a stellar year for the defender. In the same year, Watson recorded her best performance for the Saints to date.
In game 66 of her career, she produced a dominant display against the Adelaide Crows in the Elimination Final at Norwood Oval. She led all comers, amassing 29 disposals (10 contested), four marks, and 402 metres gained.
Ex-skipper Hannah Priest passed the torch to Serene to lead the Saints in 2026, and has played some of the best football of her young career to date. She played a fantastic game against her old team in round seven, accumulating 25 disposals, 10 marks, and seven rebound 50s against the Suns.
Watson will celebrate her 75th game against the Pies on Saturday in Pride Round, with the game commencing at 1:05pm on home turf at RSEA Park.
