St Kilda midfielder Seb Ross has been rewarded for another stellar performance on the weekend with a spot in AFL Media’s Round 22 team of the week.

Ross was awarded the Ian Stewart Medal for his best on ground performance against Richmond on Saturday at the MCG, ahead of teammate Leigh Montagna and Richmond’s Dustin Martin.

The 23-year-old accumulated the most possessions on the ground with 34, 11 contested possessions, a game-high six clearances, six tackles, six inside 50s and the most pressure points with 51.8 points.

Ross was named on the bench alongside a handful of budding midfield stars in Essendon’s Zach Merrett, Port Adelaide’s Ollie Wines and Adelaide’s Matt Crouch.

2016 has been a career-best season for the North Ballarat product, with the onballer playing every game and averaging 26.5 possessions (No. 3 at St Kilda), 18.7 uncontested possessions (No. 2), 4.4 tackles (No. 4), 4.1 clearances (No. 3) and 4.4 inside 50s (No. 3).
