St Kilda Football Club has expanded its partnership with Furphy, with the Victorian brewer coming on board as an Official Partner for Season 2022.

Furphy will feature on the back of St Kilda’s AFLW guernsey (home and away) below the neckline and will first be seen at tonight’s AFLW season opener between the Saints and Tigers at SkyBus Stadium.

Furphy first joined the club as a partner of St Kilda’s men’s program, before supplying beverages at all AFLW matches at RSEA Park for Season 2021.

“We’re very proud to extend our partnership with Furphy into the women’s program for 2022,” St Kilda CEO Matt Finnis said.

“To have a homegrown business like Furphy invest in the AFLW is a testament to their commitment to helping grow the game and expanding its reach across both the women’s and men’s game.”

Born at the Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong, in tanks from the Furphy Foundry in Shepparton, Furphy has firmed up its position as a fan-favourite in the Victorian beer market.

Lion’s Chief Marketing Officer Anubha Sahasrabuddhe said it was exciting for Furphy to expand its partnership with the club on the eve of the 2022 AFLW Season.

“Anyone who’s seen a game of AFLW knows how captivating and electric the competition is,” said Lion’s Chief Marketing Officer Anubha Sahasrabuddhe.

“In just five seasons, these players have become role models across the Australian community.

“Not only are they inspiring a new fans and new members, they’re promoting a footy culture that is even more inclusive.

“Tonight’s season opener between St Kilda and Richmond is a case in point. Today’s announcement is the right thing for Furphy to do – and it’s a decision that naturally aligns with our values.

“We believe it will go a long way to support the clubs and raise the profile of AFLW around the country.

“We know that Furphy is a beer for everyone to enjoy – that’s the same when it comes to footy.”
