Max King will miss the remainder of the 2023 season with a shoulder injury.
The tall forward left the ground in the opening minute of St Kilda’s game against Melbourne on Saturday night after a collision at a stoppage.
The 23-year-old underwent scans on Sunday morning which confirmed he will require surgery and be facing another rehabilitation period.
“This is a really disappointing setback for Max,” Acting General Manager of Football David Misson said.
“We’ll have a better understanding of his return to play timeline after surgery.”
A further injury update regarding Seb Ross, and Zaine Cordy will be available on the club website on Tuesday afternoon.
