St Kilda midfielder Tyanna Smith has been recognised for her outstanding AFLW season, named in the 2023 AFLPA 22under22 Squad.

The squad of 44 will be trimmed to a final team of the best 22 AFLW players aged 22 or under as voted by the fans.

Smith pieced together a remarkable 2023 campaign off the back of a heartbreaking ACL reconstruction last year, ranking first in the entire competition for pressure acts and leading the Saints in tackles, clearances and inside-50's.

It's the second time the 21-year-old has been named in the initial squad, having featured in her debut season of 2021.
