Kyla Forbes has capped off a consistent debut year, inking a one-year extension with the Saints until the end of 2027.   

Making her AFLW debut alongside fellow draftee Zoe Besanko in Round 1, the lethal left footer was quick to step up to the level, going on to play 11 of the Saints’ 13 games this season including the club’s first final.

One of the most versatile prospects of the 2024 draft,Forbes quickly found her place in Dal Santo’s defence, providing support alongside Serene Watson, Nicola Stevens, Paige Trudgeon and Ella Friend throughout the year. 

“Kyla has been a welcome addition to the squad both on and off the field,” GM AFLW Jessie Mulholland said. 

“A switched-on pressure player who has shown great maturity and skill since arriving at Moorabbin, we’ve loved seeing Kyla’s growth across her debut year. 

“We look forward to seeing what she continues to bring to the squad.” 

Forbes was one of seven new Saints to feature in 2025 alongside Zoe Besanko, Amber Clarke, Charlotte Baskaran, Nicola Barr, Arianna Clarke and Alanna Gee.
