Chelsea Sutton will become the sixth Saint to make her AFLW debut this season when St Kilda travels to take on Gold Coast this weekend.  

The 18-year-old midfielder-forward joined the Saints with pick No. 31 in the 2025 AFLW National Draft following a standout season with Gippsland Power, where she claimed the club’s best and fairest. 

A natural footballer with an impressive running capacity, Sutton has become known at RSEA Park for her speed, two-way running and ability to break lines and drive the ball forward. 

“We’re really excited to see Chelsea get her opportunity this weekend,” General Manager AFLW Jessie Mulholland said.  

“She’s worked incredibly hard since joining our program and has embraced everything that comes with stepping into an AFLW environment. 

“We’re looking forward to seeing her run out in the red, white and black for the first time on Sunday.” 

Sutton, who will wear the No. 36, becomes St Kilda’s sixth AFLW debutant of the season, following Abby Hobson in Round 1, Saoirse Lally in Round 2, Maya Louvel-Finn and Jade McLay in Round 3 and Carys D’Addario in Round 4.  

Sunday’s clash will mark St Kilda’s second interstate trip of the season, following the Saints’ Round 3 trip to Coffs Harbour to face Sydney.
