Academy graduate Kye Fincher realises AFL dream

Saints midfielder Marcus Windhager surprises fellow Moorabbin Airport STK Academy graduate Kye Fincher on AFL Draft night.

A powerful utility with the versatility to see him make an impact at the content and in the air at both ends of the ground, the Sandringham Dragons prospect has had an exciting draft year, making waves across the Coasts Talent League, U18 Championships for Vic Metro and a VFL debut for the Sandringham Zebras.

Spending most of his career as a rebounding defender, Fincher impressed as a mid-forward in the back-end of the year. The recently turned 18-year-old’s VFL debut cemented himself in attack, impressing with 26 disposals, six tackles and four clearances to be names Sandy’s player of the day.
