The Saints have secured Claremont utility Charlie Banfield with Pick 41 in the 2025 National Draft.

A hard running player with excellent aerial ability, Charlie shapes as an exciting wingman with his marking and capacity to get up and down the ground. 

Son of 265-game Premiership Eagle Drew Banfield, Charlie has the ability to thrive at either end of the ground, while also showing plenty of promise on the wing this season. 

He played all four National Championships matches for Western Australia in each of the past two years and was one of their most consistent performers, featuring among their best players in all matches this year.

Banfield also won the Mel Whinnen Medal for his best-on-ground performance in the WAFL Colts Grand Final, finishing with 28 disposals, five clearances, nine inside-50s, five marks and two goals in a dominant display.

A strong runner, Banfield produced an impressive show of endurance at the WA State Draft Combine, with an elite performance in the 2km time trial of 6:08 minutes.
